When do I need a Medical?

Aviation Medicals are available between 8:30am and 3:30pm Tuesday to Friday, bookings are required please click on the SAR Aviation Medicine link below to make a booking.

Medicals are required prior to being sent on your first SOLO flight. We recommend you obtain the appropriate medical for your course, CLASS 1 Commercial Pilot, Class 2 for Private Pilot, as early as possible. This way you are already approved fit prior to reaching the requirements for Solo flight.

The CLASS 1 is renewed every 12 Month and the CLASS 2 is renewed every 4 years till age 40 and then every 2 years.
